This is my pick to try this year for a new rose variety. It's a Weeks rose, so I'll need to find a retail source, but I think it sounds really intriguing.

Floribunda - Milk chocolate changing to lavender

So unusual…it looks good enough to eat…or maybe drink in this case. The cocoa is creamy like latte. But the latte goes loco to finish all lavender! You just can’t imagine a milky chocolate-colored bud would mature to be a solid soft lavender blossom. Early to bloom, every lovely bud spirals open with impeccable show form. The flowers last long on the plant & in the vase. Beyond its novelty, there lies a great plant….rounded, handsome & bushy…chock full of green leaves.

It's that time of year...you know. So dull, so grey, sooooooooooooo wintery. Well there's a few things I do to cope until I get to the Greener Part of the Year.....one of course is, I'm poring over every seed catalog I can get my hands on. And I'm looking forward to the Garden Show February 17-19 in Springfield, Missouri.

Silver Dollar City Christmas

One of the top tourist destinations this time of year is Branson's own Silver Dollar City with their "An Old Time Christmas" Celebration. Like lights? I think they have around two million. The tree lighting ceremony each night is not to be missed. You can see this amazing display until December 30, 2011.

This is our Palomino mare we raised. She's out of Rio Starlight, the only Buckskin son of the great Grays Starlight. I made this little diptych so I could show how pretty she is....

This was a view from behind one of my garden beds back toward the house last summer. I really miss my garden this year worse than I ever have. I'll just have to enjoy looking at the pictures until the season comes around again....:) Have a great holiday weekend, all!
